Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C/180Fan, this can also be cooked in the air fryer at 180). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Place a chicken breast between two pieces of plastic wrap and pound it with a rolling pin until it is an even thickness. Repeat with the other chicken breast.

  3. Place a slice of ham and a slice of Swiss cheese on top of each chicken breast. Roll up the chicken breast, tucking in the edges to enclose the filling.

  4. Season the flour with salt and pepper. Dip each chicken roll in the beaten egg, then roll in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess. Dip the chicken rolls again in the beaten egg, then roll in the breadcrumbs to coat.

  5. Heat the olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken rolls and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.

  6. Transfer the chicken rolls to the prepared baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the filling is hot and melted.

  7. Let the chicken cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
