Honey & Beer Pulled Chicken Buns for Father's Day


It's #NationalBeerDay and #FathersDay this weekend so why not try our #recipe for honey & beer pulled chicken buns!?


A perfect summer dish to share with friends and family. Serve up in buns with slaw & pickles!

Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • 8 boneless skinless chicken thighs (buy yours HERE)

  • 1/4 cup honey

  • 2 tbsp cider vinegar

  • 2 tbsp Sriracha chili sauce

  • 1 tbsp chili powder

  • 1 tsp smoked paprika

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 3/4 cup brown ale

  • 3 tbsp cornstarch

  • 3 tbsp water

  • Buns, pickles, and slaw to serve!

Method

  1. Mix all the ingredients - except the cornstarch, water, buns pickles & slaw, in your slow cooker.

  2. Cook for 6-8 hours - the chicken should be tender.

  3. Remove the meat and when it is cool enough to handle, shred with 2 forks.

  4. Transfer the cooking juices from the slow cooker into a small saucepan, bring to a boil. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water until smooth, stir into the saucepan to thicken the sauce.

  5. Return the sauce to a boil, stirring constantly. Cook and stir until thickened, about 5 minutes.

  6. Add chicken to the sauce; toss to coat.

  7. Serve on buns. Add pickles, slaw, and additional Sriracha sauce if desired!
